Mist Elimination Cooling Tower

The water-saving and mist-eliminating cooling tower is an advanced cooling system designed to significantly reduce water consumption while improving cooling efficiency. Traditional cooling towers cause a large amount of water to evaporate during operation, while the water-saving and mist-eliminating cooling tower achieves the purpose of saving water by reducing evaporation losses and optimizing water use. Its core technology includes a mist-eliminating device that can effectively capture the water vapor generated during the cooling process, thereby reducing water loss. This design not only helps to improve cooling efficiency, but also reduces the negative impact on the environment and improves overall economic benefits.

On the basis of the open cooling tower, the external cold source is fully utilized, and the air cooling system or condensation system is introduced, which is connected in series or parallel with the open wet cooling unit to complete the cooling temperature drop, reduce the evaporation water loss, and reduce the outlet fog plume emission. It is a new generation of environmentally friendly open cooling tower.

Air-cooled and wet-cooled combined water-saving and defogging technology. With excellent air cooler design and electric shutters, the cooling tower can operate for a long period of time without performance attenuation problems. The heat transfer coefficient and water-saving and defogging performance remain unchanged for a long time. Modular design, easy installation, long service life, and stable structure; it can complete a larger air cooling heat exchange capacity, thereby improving the water-saving and defogging effect. In different seasons, the air volume can be changed by adjusting the shutter angle, the air flow resistance is small, the fan energy consumption is smaller, the operation is more economical, and the defogging and water-saving effects are better.

Condensation module water-saving and defogging technology. The condensation module is placed in the air chamber of the cooling tower. The saturated hot and humid air discharged from the cooling tower filler enters the hot and humid channel of the condensation module, and is condensed to form condensed water, which will drip back to the circulating water system. The design of the water-saving mist tower ensures that the moisture and air coming out of the condensing module are evenly mixed to ensure water-saving mist elimination. The water head of the water-saving mist tower is the same as that of a traditional wet tower, without additional water head. The condensing module does not need to be cleaned regularly and will not freeze in severe winter climates. The weight of the condensing module is evenly distributed in the tower, rather than concentrated on both sides of the tower, which is beneficial to the basic design of the cooling tower. All water-saving mist tower components are designed to meet daily opening and closing in severe winter temperatures.

Advantages and Disadvantages

Advantages
  • Significant water-saving effect: The cooling tower reduces the evaporation loss of water during the cooling process through optimized design, especially in high-temperature environments, which can significantly save water and is suitable for areas with limited water resources.
  • Defogging function: Since the cooling tower will generate mist during operation, the defogging technology effectively captures this water vapor, reducing environmental pollution and visual obstruction, which is particularly suitable for industrial facilities near residential areas and sensitive areas.
  • Improve cooling efficiency: The use of finned tubes or other high-efficiency heat exchange designs can achieve better cooling effects at a smaller water flow rate, improving the overall performance of the equipment.
  • Environmental compliance: With increasingly stringent environmental standards, the design of water-saving defogging cooling towers meets the requirements of modern industry for sustainable development and environmental protection, helping companies reduce their carbon footprint.
Disadvantages
  • Higher initial investment: Due to the use of more complex design and high-efficiency materials, the initial construction and equipment costs of water-saving mist-eliminating cooling towers are generally higher than traditional cooling towers, which may pose a challenge to companies with limited funds.
  • Maintenance requirements: The design of the mist-eliminating device and finned tubes requires regular maintenance to ensure their proper operation. If not properly maintained, it may affect the cooling efficiency and equipment life.
  • Technical complexity: The complexity of the equipment may require a higher level of technical skills for operation and maintenance, increasing the need for operator training.
  • Limited application scenarios: Although water-saving mist-eliminating cooling towers perform well in many industrial applications, they may not be as efficient as other types of cooling towers in some specific conditions (such as extreme climates or special cooling needs).
