Pharmaceutical Industry

EMCC provides customized design services.

The pharmaceutical industry is a highly complex and strictly regulated industry that involves the research and development, production, quality control and sales of drugs. Its production process usually requires precise temperature and humidity control, as well as high-purity water quality management, which makes the cooling system play an important role in ensuring drug quality and production efficiency.

In the pharmaceutical industry, cooling towers are mainly used in process links that require strict temperature control and high water quality, such as reaction cooling, fermentation tank temperature control, condensation and freeze drying. Due to its anti-pollution design and precise temperature control capabilities, closed cooling towers are widely used in various production links of pharmaceuticals to ensure the high quality and safety of drug production.

Features

Strict regulatory requirements: The pharmaceutical industry is strictly regulated by GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) and other international and local regulations. These standards require that the environment, process control and water quality management in the pharmaceutical production process must meet high standards to ensure the safety and effectiveness of drugs.

Diverse products: Including chemical drugs, biopharmaceuticals, vaccines, antibiotics, vitamins, etc., the production process of each product has different requirements for temperature, water quality and humidity control.

High cleanliness requirements: The workshop and production water need to be kept clean and sterile, especially when it comes to the production of injections, sterile preparations and biological drugs, the water quality requirements for cooling water are very high.

Typical Applications

Reactor cooling: During the synthesis reaction of chemical drugs and the fermentation process of biopharmaceuticals, the reactor will generate a lot of heat. Closed cooling towers are needed to control the reaction temperature, prevent water pollution and maintain water cleanliness.

Temperature control of fermentation tanks: Fermentation tanks in biopharmaceuticals are used for cell or microbial culture to produce products such as antibodies, enzymes and vaccines. Closed cooling towers are used to provide stable cooling water temperature to prevent water pollution during fermentation.

Condensation and solvent recovery: The pharmaceutical process involves distillation and condensation of organic solvents. Closed cooling towers are used to provide high-purity cooling water for the condenser to prevent impurities or corrosive substances from affecting the performance of the condenser.

Cooling of freeze-drying (freeze-drying) equipment: The freeze-drying process used to produce biological products, vaccines and antibiotics needs to be carried out in a low-temperature environment. Closed cooling towers are used to ensure the cleanliness of cooling water and stable temperature to prevent drug contamination.

Cooling of HVAC systems: Dust-free workshops and clean rooms in the pharmaceutical industry require strict temperature and humidity control. Closed cooling towers are used to provide clean cooling water for HVAC systems to reduce system scaling and maintenance frequency.

Cleaning and disinfection (CIP system): The CIP system in the pharmaceutical industry is used to clean and disinfect production equipment. It uses a closed cooling tower to provide clean cooling water to avoid secondary contamination of the equipment during the cleaning process.
