EMCC provides customized design services.
In the chemical industry, cooling towers are key auxiliary equipment used to maintain the temperature balance of equipment during the production process and ensure the stability and safety of the process. The production process of the chemical industry often involves high-temperature reactions, large amounts of waste heat release, and strict requirements on water quality, so it is very important to choose the right type of cooling tower.
Cooling requirements
Cooling of high-temperature equipment: During the chemical production process, reactors, condensers and other key equipment will generate a lot of heat. In order to ensure the safe operation of the equipment, this heat must be dissipated to avoid overheating of the equipment.
Continuous cooling requirements: Chemical processes are usually continuous production, and cooling towers need to operate uninterruptedly to ensure that the temperature of the entire production line is maintained within a controllable range.
Water quality requirements: Some chemical products have high requirements for the quality of cooling water, especially in the production of high-purity products. Impurities or contaminants in the water may affect product quality.
Typical Applications
Refinery: The production process includes high-temperature reaction and cooling of heat exchange equipment. Countercurrent open cooling towers are used to handle large-flow hot water and dissipate heat efficiently. For occasions with high purity requirements, closed cooling towers are used to avoid the influence of impurities.
Fertilizer production: The cooling requirements of high-temperature reactors and condensers are large, and open cooling towers are used to handle large-flow cooling water. Some high-purity processes use closed cooling towers to maintain stable water quality.
Plastic and polymer production: Suitable for cooling polymerization and extrusion equipment, open cooling towers are often used to treat waste heat. When the water quality requirements are high, closed cooling towers are used to maintain pure water quality.
Fine chemicals: Precise temperature control and high-purity water are required in processes such as pharmaceuticals, spices, and dyes. Closed cooling towers are used to isolate pollution, and mechanical ventilation cooling towers are used for large-scale cooling.
Organic chemical production: Open cooling towers are mainly used to handle high-temperature reactions and condensation processes. Closed cooling towers are used in process occasions with high pollution prevention requirements.
Acid and alkali production: Acid and alkali concentration cooling is involved, and closed cooling towers prevent corrosive substances from contacting cooling water. When cooling non-highly corrosive liquids, open cooling towers can be used.
